Health & Welfare Plans
Medical Plan: Under the Medical Plan you have the option of selecting either an indemnity plan, HMO or Point of Service (POS) Plan (offered in most areas), for yourself and your dependents.
Dental Plan: The plan provides a wide range of dental services and quality care at low out-of-pocket costs.
Income Advantage Plan (IAP): The IAP offers you the opportunity to set aside money on a pre-tax basis to pay for uncovered medical expenses under the Health Care Account and day care expenses under the Dependent Day Care Account.
Life Insurance Plans: The firm provides each eligible employee with a Basic Life Insurance Plan plus the opportunity to purchase Supplemental Life Insurance and Spousal Life Insurance.
Accident Insurance Plans: UBS Financial Services provides Business Travel Accident Insurance for each employee in the event that he or she is injured or dies while on company business. You also have the option of purchasing additional Personal Accident Insurance for yourself and your family.
Disability Insurance Plans: USB Financial Services provides eligible employees with a Short Term Disability plan that provides them with compensation for up to 26 weeks (after one year of service). UBS Financial Services also allows you to purchase Long Term Disability coverage that continues a certain portion of your compensation tax-free during your disability period.
Wealth Accumulation Programs
401(k) Plus Plan: Under this plan, you can save 1% - 16% of your pay on a pre-tax and/or post-tax basis. UBS Financial Services also contributes to your account by matching a portion of your contributions and adding an annual supplemental retirement contribution.
Equity Plus Plan: UBS Financial Services offers employees the opportunity to accumulate stock through after-tax payroll deductions and, in turn, they will receive two options for each share purchased.
PartnerPlus: UBS Financial Services provides this wealth accumulation plan to Financial Advisors who generate a certain level of gross production.
Other Programs
Lend-A-Hand Resource and Referral Service: A toll-free resource and referral program designed to assist employees in making decisions regarding childcare, elder care and a wide array of other personal and family situations.
Tuition Assistance Plan (TAP): Provided you are eligible, UBS Financial Services will reimburse you for college tuition and certification expenses up to $6,000.
Mutual Fund Deduction Program: Allows a portion of your paycheck to be automatically invested in up to 10 UBS Financial Services Mutual Funds.
Employee Assistance Plan (EAP): Through the EAP, every employee can call an 800 number and speak to experienced counselors regarding a number of personal issues. This is a confidential service that is available to all employees regardless if he or she is enrolled in the medical plan.
TRIP: Allows employees to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for their parking and/or mass transit expenses.
Child Care Leave of Absence Program: Provides eligible employees 100% compensation for 8 weeks for leaves related to maternity or adoption. Also provides eligible employees with Adoption Assistance for a special needs child.
Annual General Meeting of UBS AG
At the Annual General Meeting held on April 19, 2006, the shareholders of UBS approved the dividend of CHF 3.20 per share proposed by the Board of Directors. They also elected two new members – Gabrielle Kaufmann-Kohler and Jürg Wolle – to the Board of Directors and re-elected both Rolf A. Meyer and Ernesto Bertarelli to their respective offices for another three years. UBS shareholders approved the creation of conditional capital. The Annual General Meeting was attended by 2311 shareholders, representing 242,545,009 votes.
