Indian Rivers is a comprehensive mental health center; 100% of our services are devoted to providing mental health prevention and treatment to the citizen's of Bibb, Pickens, and Tuscaloosa counties.

Our Mental Illness division provides an array of residential services ranging from a short term crisis residential unit to supported apartment living. Our current residential capacity is 73 community based beds. We provide outpatient services such as psychotherapy and psychiatric care in locations across our service area. We provide case management and skills training service to those's working toward recovery but continue to require supports to maintain independent living status within the community. We also provide crisis intervention service available 24 hours, 7 days per week for those in psychiatric crisis.
Our Mental Retardation division provides residential service to 62 individuals living in the community in a supervised setting. Community based skills training is also provided to more that 120 additional individuals.
Essential duties and responsibilities for Job Coach
1. Develop jobs within the community for Supported Employment consumers.
2. Conduct analysis of business climate and identify potential employment sites.
3. Prior to training or introducing workers to the job site, conduct a job analysis and task analysis to insure proper job match.
4. Orient workers to work site, i.e. time cards, bathrooms, break area, rules, etc.
5. Train workers on job safety at the site, specific job skills, and appropriate behaviors needed for success on the job.
6. Provide on-going assessment and recording of worker performance and productivity.
7. Problem-solve worker related job difficulties at the site.
8. Model appropriate behavior on the job.
9. Train workers on any new skills and job requirements introduced at any point during tenure on the job.
10. Assist and encourage the completion of tasks by the worker at the job site to ensure employer satisfaction and requirements.
11. Teach workers self-advocacy skills.
12. Train workers to advocate/solve own problems on the job.
13. Train workers on use of public (or other type of) transportation to travel to and from job site.
14. Involve on-site personnel in the training and supervision to prepare to fade out.
15. Schedule will be adjusted to work evenings, weekends and odd hours, as determined by the needs of the workers and their job schedule.
