About the Company:


Nassau Financial Federal Credit Union was originally chartered as the Nassau County Court House Employees Federal Credit Union on May 18, 1936. Over the years its charter was expanded to include other local government jurisdictions and entities in its field of membership and its name was changed to Nassau County Employees FCU in 1969 and eventually to Nassau County FCU in 1991.



In 2004 we converted to a community charter, allowing us to serve anyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers or attends school in Nassau County and, in 2005, we therefore changed our name again to Nassau Financial Federal Credit Union. We have grown to over $250 million in assets, serving over 27,000 members in three locations with additional offices available through the shared service center network.



 


Job Description: Teller



Assist members with their transactions and perform other clerical duties.



 Essential Duties/Responsibilities:




  1. Receive members personally or by telephone; determines nature of the member's business and whether to transact the member's request or refer the member to the proper staff person.
  2. Cash checks within the credit union's check cashing policy.
  3. Receive share deposits, and loan payments in person or by mail.
  4. Sell money orders, official checks and travelers checks: charge fees when appropriate
  5. Process cash advances according to credit union procedures.
  6. Responsible for cash drawer and subsidiary cash drawer; open and close the computer terminal; account for assigned cash and accurately balance to the computer.
  7. Process transfers and disburses cash or check share withdrawals requested in person or by mail.


Other Duties/Responsibilities:




  1. Close accounts when requested, according to procedure.
  2. Count coin received as necessary
  3. Follow audit dual control and all security procedures as established by credit union.
  4. Perform specific and delegated duties as assigned by Management.
