POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for the supervision of clinical staff, the maintenance of quality client care in compliance with federal, state and local regulations and accreditation standards and adherence to budget goals.

 Duties

1.      Responsible for the supervision of clinical staff and the maintenance of quality of patient care under federal, state and local regulations and accreditation standards.

2.      Hires, monitors, and supervises clinical personnel.

3.      Evaluates employees in their performance including effective recommendations regarding continued employment, discipline and pay increase considerations.

4.      Exercises authority to initiate and execute disciplinary actions (formal and informal) with employees, including warnings (verbal and written) suspensions and effective recommendation of additional discipline, up to and including discharge.

5.      Responsible for effective utilization of staff including assignment, reassignment of duties, calling additional employees where appropriate.

6.      Delegates assignment of clients appropriately.

7.      Supervises coordination and appropriateness of client care.

8.      Monitors clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy and assures that it meets standards for good clinical documentation and successful billing.

9.      Assures that client care conferences are conducted and recorded.

10.    Coordinates and facilitates interdisciplinary communication.

11.    Assists with assessment for staff inservice needs and participates in inservice programs.

12.      Assists with clinical orientation.

13.      Participates in required clinical team conferences with other home care staff.

14.      Provides clinical nursing visits as necessary.
