Description:   BI Programmer/Analyst Duties and Responsibilities of Position: Under limited, general direction, develop strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and development and maintenance for the data warehouse; identify and define key aspects of the user interface; analysis of speed, space and budget constraints; error handling strategies; review and interpret business requirements into high-level technology solutions; involved in design planning and deployment; design reviews and approvals; reviewing new software features; recommending new software; communication to designers; governance/adherence; ensure maintainability; CDMA administration; work with Business Analyst in categorizing data elements into domain types; maintain Code Mappings; maintain Source to Target mappings; maintain a living document that provide information on where data comes from, their location in the warehouse, how data is processed, how clean it is, how data is used; implement and maintain a metadata repository performs Data Modeling for enhancement and new projects; relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Skills/Experience Required: Experience coding, testing, debugging, installing and supporting business applications in an Oracle Unix Data Warehouse environment. Experience reviewing and analyzing business requirements for modifications to existing or development of new systems. Excellent problem solving abilities. Ability to work independently. High degree of experience SQL, Cognos and MicroStrategy. Proficient in Data Architecture and Data Modeling products, such as Erwin. Strong knowledge of Oracle 10G. Knowledge of Ascential Data Stage a plus. Strong knowledge of business applications, operations, system functionality, and system processing. Strong knowledge of concepts of reviewing and analyzing business requirement documents in order to evaluate the systems effort required satisfying those requirements.
