Description:   Start-up office of expanding P&C insurer. Handling E&S business on traditional submittal basis. Managing producer binding authorization process. Identify target agents based on organization production and underwriting criteria and work to establish strong working relationships with assigned agencies. Manage assigned agents, including overseeing profitability and production standards, developing relationships, making presentations on products, training on processes and guidelines, etc. Underwriting decision-making on a risk-by-risk basis consistent with profit center and/or product guidelines and goals. Review inspection and loss history reports and initiate proper actions as needed. Review and evaluate losses on existing business and initiate proper action as needed. Approve policy issuance and terminations. Understand the product offering and effectively use them to control the underwriting exposure. Responsible for communicating, as frequently as needed, the problems or opportunities within the production territory to the Profit Center Manager and Business Development including but not limited to: production, efficiency, underwriting issues, rating/quoting and bind authority issues.
