Sogeti USA leads migration effort for Virginia Department of Social Services
Dayton, Ohio – September 24, 2004 – Sogeti USA LLC
, a premier provider of information-technology services, today announced that it is delivering a two-year, $3.7 million IT migration project to the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS). Sogeti is leading the effort to migrate Virginia 's Automated Program for the Enforcement of Child Support (APECS) computing environment from its legacy IMS hierarchical database technology to IBM's state-of-the-art DB2 relational database. Virginia chose Sogeti due to its Migration Services and project management experience, built on 35+ years of best practices, and automated migration approach featuring a comprehensive toolset and methodology.
Bill Clarke, Sogeti project manager, explained that a key reason for the migration was the DSS' need to have selective APECS data available from the Web, and relational technology was an important first step in Web enabling the application.
Said Clarke: “The client told us that our solution was technically superior and offered more value than the other options presented during the RFP process. We were able to conduct a real-time demonstration of [Sogeti's] tool with DSS' programs and convince VDSS we were the best choice.”
