The Shred-it story

Like most companies, Shred-it began with a vision; the vision of entrepreneur Greg Brophy to create a corporate culture of exceptional service and employee development.

It started with Greg and a single truck, and in 1988 Shred-it Document Destruction was born. Soon, one truck grew to three, and we’ve been moving forward ever since.

Today we employ more than 3000 people in over 16 countries. Building on the company’s original values and vision for excellence, we’ve expanded to offer secure information management solutions for over 150,000 customers around the world - including Fortune 500 companies, hospitals, banks and government agencies.

While it’s true we’ve evolved from a small company to a world-wide fixture, Shred-it still, to this day, stays true to our commitment to exceptional service and employee development.
