Plante and Moran was founded by Elorion Plante in 1924 and a partnership with Frank Moran was established in 1950. We are now the 12th largest certified public accounting and management consulting firm according to Public Accounting Report

ASWA Balance Award — Each year, the American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA) recognizes the "best in market" national, regional, and local companies that are committed to work/life balance place. In September 2007, Plante & Moran was a winner of in the “Industry—Regional” category.

Leadership Excellence — In September 2007, Plante & Moran was recognized in two separate categories by Leadership Excellence magazine for excellence in its leadership development programs. The categories were “small to midsize organizations” and “large consulting groups.” This is the second consecutive year we were recognized.

PMFA Ranks Among Top Financial Advisors in the Country — Plante Moran Financial Advisors (PMFA) ranks sixth in the nation in assets according to the July 2007 issue of Financial Advisor magazine, the publication’s second annual listing of independent Registered Investment Advisors (RIA).
2007 Best and Brightest — In May 2007, Plante & Moran was named one of West Michigan’s “101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” for the third consecutive year. We were honored to be recognized as a leader within our community.

Practical Accountant’s Practice Innovation Award — In September 2006, Plante & Moran Global Services was honored by Practical Accountant magazine with a 2006 Practice Innovation Award. The award recognizes accounting firms that take the lead in developing new or improved services, and promote efficiency in the practice of public accounting. This was the third time Plante & Moran was recognized for our innovation.

Wealth Manager Recognizes PMFA — PMFA ranked as 48th in average client relationship for independent financial advisory firms according to Wealth Manager’s sixth annual rankings.

Telly Awards — In 2006, Plante & Moran was fortunate to win two Telly awards. The Telly is widely recognized as the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable television programs and commercials as well as the finest video and film productions.

Work/Life Balance Awards — In April 2003, Plante & Moran’s Ann Arbor office was awarded the Work/Life Balance award. The Washtenaw Work/Life Consortium offers the award to those organizations who, while meeting business goals, offer options to their employees that allow for a healthy balance between the demands of their work and personal lives.

Plante & Moran also received a Work/Life Balance Award from the American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA). Recipients displayed an exemplary commitment to work/life balance and sensitivity to the concerns of women in the accounting and financial services industry.
