Direct General Corporation is an insurance holding company headquartered in Nashville Tennessee that provides personal lines of insurance and insurance related products directly to the customer through a network of neighborhood offices throughout twelve states in the southeastern United States.

The Corporation consists of a group of companies providing insurance, premium finance and agency services to its clients. Management believes that this consolidation and the automated integration opportunities gives it a competitive advantage to their customer in the products and services which are provided.

Benefits
Providing a comprehensive benefits package to all eligible employees is a commitment at Direct. We continually strive to offer the benefits that are important to our associates. PPO MEDICAL PLAN Individual and family coverage is available to full-time employees. Employees may pay premiums with pre-tax dollars. Direct pays a large portion of the premium cost for individual and family coverage. DENTAL PLAN Individual and family coverage is available to full-time employees. The plan covers 100% of the cost for preventative exams and cleanings twice a year. Premiums may be paid with pre-tax dollars. LIFE INSURANCE PLANS Direct provides, at no cost to our employees, a death benefit equal to 1 times the eligible employees's base salary. Additionally, employees can purchase additional individual coverage and coverage on qualified dependents at a very reasonable premium rate. ACCIDENTAL DEATH AND DISMEMBERMENT PLAN This plan provides coverage to eligible employees for accidents which result in loss of life, loss of sight, or dismemberment. There is no cost to the associate for this coverage. SHORT-TERM DISABILITY PLAN & LONG TERM DISABILITY Employees may choose income protection up to 60% of their base salary. This plan offers employees income while out of work due to accident or illness. 401(K) PLAN Direct offers eligible employees the opportunity to participate in this plan. Direct will begin matching 60% of employee contributions up to 5% of eligible compensation immediately. PAID TIME OFF Employees are eligible to earn vacation after 3 months of service. As the employees's service with the company increases, so do their vacation days. FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULES Employees must meet the demands of their personal life as well as their professional life. Direct recognizes this and offers work flexible schedules, including a 4-day work week.
