Overview

When Steve Ells opened the first Chipotle in Denver in 1993, he had a novel idea: Show that food served fast didn’t have to be a typical fast food experience. Because of that, he broke all of the rules. In fact, we do just about everything differently and it starts with the people we hire to work in our restaurants.

Career Opportunities

START YOUR CAREER ROLLING
One of the many reasons why Chipotle is unlike other fast food companies is the fact that nearly all of the leaders are promoted from our crew.

Many restaurant companies hire "professional" managers to run their restaurants and almost never look to their crews for new leaders. But last year at Chipotle, 97% of our general managers were promoted from our crews and because our company is growing, there's plenty of opportunity.

Countless people who came simply looking for a job now find themselves leading dozens, or even thousands of people while enjoying a career that is totally fulfilling, fun, and financially rewarding beyond anything they thought possible. It's pretty simple: If you work hard, you'll get noticed and before you know it, you'll be on a roll.

Cultivate a Burritoful World

Chipotle is a pioneer in changing the way people think about and eat fast food. We are committed to using ingredients raised responsibly - with respect for the farmers, the animals and the environment. We take pride in sourcing as many of our high quality ingredients as we can from local and family farmers who are committed to sustainable agriculture. It is an active process of working back along the food chain. It is a deeper level of thinking, consideration, and comprehension than just the word ‘fresh.’ It means going beyond distributors to discover how our vegetables are grown, and being cognizant of how our pigs, cows and chickens are raised.

Food like this was once served only by the most discerning chefs in the top restaurants or available in specialty food markets. But we think everyone deserves to eat better food from better sources — because food of this quality tastes superior. For more on our dedication to sustainability, visit www.chipotle.com.
